Janefield Farm Scottish cold pressed camelina oil

Produced by Janefield Farm in the beautiful county of East Lothian. 

Camelina Sativa is native to Europe and has pretty much been forgotten as a crop. But it produces a delicious oil which naturally contains high omega 3 (35.66g per 100g) and antioxidants. It’s got a light flavour, with hints of fresh peas and almonds, and a high smoke point of 246°C.

Janefield is a family farm in East Lothian with a mission to bring overlooked, locally grown crops back to the table.

Looking for ways to grow a more diverse range of crops and produce nutritious, minimally processed food closer to home, the family began growing camelina — an ancient oilseed crop particularly well suited to the Scottish climate.

Their cold-pressed camelina oil is grown and produced on the farm, creating a distinctly Scottish alternative to imported cooking oils while supporting greater diversity in both our fields and our diets.

The name Janefield comes from the family's favourite field on the farm — known locally as Jeanfield — chosen, appropriately, for having the best views.
